The home Atmosphere at English football is reactive to the game.

When nothing of note or excitement or controversy is happening the atmosphere reflects this.

But when it's good, it's very good and better than the atmosphere at the 'ultra' European games.

Not sure why anybody would be against a good atmosphere at the match, used to be buzzing all the time even when there was no singing the place would have a hum about it with people shouting stuff and having a laugh, not any more people are scared to shout things incase they offend anyone and get lashed out or even prosecuted. As the price of tickets rises the quality of supporter goes down everybody is a football manager these days.

we pay alaot of money so we cant really do what those ultras do

sometimes they arent even payin attention to the game, theyre just creatin an atmosphere. Its admirable in one sense, but our focus is watching the game, not cheerleading.

It really wasn't always buzzing.

In the 80s glory days there were games when it was very quiet.

And I remember actually falling asleep one day in the 90s when we beat Watford, I think, 4-1 but the game was settled so early the crowd were quiet.

Look, some games are lively, some ain't.

Simple as.
