atmosphere at Goodison is awful.

Bit harsh that mate, actually think we're the last bastion kicking against SKY,also I know loads of fellas my age who are still going to the match who were youths going back to the 1970's.

The Sky mentality was to filter the atmosphere, everyone sit down, stop big gangs of lads being together, to allow the families in, stop the nasty songs, with only a signature song after a goal, making it marketable and safe for family viewing. Evertonian have bought all of that, and we did so years ago. Yes our fans got onto the no face paint and replica kit, but have gone full on to the rest of it.

These standing areas, these singing sections whatever they are called were always reactions against the whole Sky brigade. Don't forget, we were the first team to do the standing areas, the persistant standing in seats in the early 90s at home. We were the forerunners in that, but all that got lost when our attendances bumped up from 20 thou to 35 thousand.

True that. I have seen Everton at more away games than at home, including Wembley, (which is different anyrate), and the support has always been a noisy mass of blues.

I sit next to my mate by a few kids, a quiet couple and a few old fellas in the LB next to the GS.

Not many people sing around us, maybe this is why. At away days most people are either half cut or buzzing cos of the euphoria an away game brings therefore most sing.

I know we should of been better at home, but I think the fans there probably werent feeling it after poor start, did gradually get better. Our away support though, fantastic stuff, look forward to Lille away!

Whilst i am a ST holder and will get to most homes, i will also try and get to as many aways as it tends to be a better atmosphere. Cant put my finger on why Goodison doesnt usually have the same feel, more family orientated i guess, which is no bad thing, its not surprising since kids ST start at £95, bargain that! Probably look at buying my boys one next season and then I'll be biting my tongue too!

This thread, or similar ones, comes up on a regular basis.
If people want to sing with like minded folk, and they're not already in the Lower Gwladys, then move. It really is as simple as that.

lol

doesn't even nearly reflect the manner in which attendances have risen or fallen.

tell you what mate, take a pair of sepia-lensed glasses with you to the game, get your mate to piddle down your leg every so often, wear a pair of BeatsByDre headphones with 'Royal Blue Mersey' on repeat and try and enjoy the beautiful football on show

I've been to aways were the atmosphere's been poor,Old Trafford the other week for example, other times its been bouncing, obviously reliant on the type of game we're at and how we're doing!!
