atmosphere at Goodison is awful.

Goodison only really gets going if they're having a good fume about something.

The fume factor isn't that high at the moment.

Plus with the recent defensive record nerves mean people don't want to sing.


That'll change when we get more wins

Then there is the fact everyone us seated.....there is no doubt one us more inclined to sing and chant when one can bob up and down at the same time, the way we used to do on the terraces.

Radio City was full of kids singing yesterday. Don't think age has anything to do with anything.

That idea ranks with playing a catchy tune when the home team scores or waving giant flags like they do at Arsenal.

It is all gimmicky, plastic stuff.

I don't want to get all pantomime and start an 'oh yes it is' argument we'll be here forever.

For arguments sake then, what do you want to call that section at the back of the St End where the singing came for those many decades? Other grounds all had similar areas. What do you call those areas?

All the lads who have discussed the singing section on here are known lads who grew up in the 70s, 80s, 90s going in the St End and leading the singing. All the same principles as then. What they've found is that rather than a tight knit of 300 fans being together. They are now interspersed as it is seating and you can't get that tight together meaning the atmosphere got worse. So they re advertised it, to get people back together, and the newer lads in there who missed it first time round. It went over a lot of peoples heads though.

I can't relate to todays home fans anymore, I think they're Sky whoppers who know nothing of our past and full of pathetic excuses why as not to sing, they may as well turn up with big foam fingers.

At least our away fans are finally getting it together, we need an Everton away section in the home end. Fans who know that you sing to get behind the team, get behind them when they need it, ie when they're losing, drawing, hanging on for a win. ie support the team.

And yet these 'pathetic' fans probably spend a great proportion of their wages on the Club than ever before. Terrible bunch of tossers really eh lid.

Surely that was just a response to the Villa fans " you only sing when you're winning".

I watched on a stream and actually turned the sound down because the crowd noise was quite loud and interfering with the commentary - but perhaps that is just to my ears.

I don't think atmosphere has much to do with singing, its more to do with expectation and angst, and yesterday wasn't very exciting to watch. Although there were periods of unease when Hutton got forward, it was a fairly straightforward win, so nothing to get too agitated about.

Bit harsh that mate,actually think we're the last bastion kicking against SKY,also I know loads of fellas my age who are still going to the match who were youths going back to the 1970's.
 
Agreed, yesterday it wasn't good enough. The Villa fas were taking the p*ss out of our lack of vocal support all afternoon and the ground started emptying 5 mins before the end of time, you wouldn't think were winning 3-0. Supporters need to raise the tempo and stop being so lazy.

Thursday night is the perfect chance to make up for it, let the thousands of blues who are going take over that city and give the French the fright of their lives!
 
I actually thought the villa fans where quite quiet yesterday the odd gay chat like that sign on one everybody sings. Do villa actually have their own songs or just the generic wool songs 90% of away fans sing?

I call them sections of the ground at the back of the St. End where the singing came from.....sometimes.

What they were not was "designated singing areas".

Now, I suggest you heed your own inner voices and stop behaving like Buttons in that pantomime you were talking about.

Just accept that some people have a different opinion to you on this matter and it is no big deal to either party and it doesn't need to be debated to death.
