I would be playing our strongest team its the start of the season nobody is tired, we should take this very seriously.
Get some momentum after the weekends result

100%

I don't want to see Keane, Godfrey anywhere near the starting line up.

Pickford
Patterson
Tarkowski
Branthwaite
Mykolenko
Harrison
Garner
Onana
Mcneil
Doucoure
Beto

Get some bloody momentum going

Go full strength, despise managers who don't in cups ( when playing good opposition)

Villa will have loads of games this season with Europe so you'd think this is the one cup they'll happily sacrifice, if they go weaker they are there for the taking.

Cup runs improve the mood

Leon Bailey was only a sub today so he'll be starting this. Duran been regular in europe and scored 4 in last six games so he'll be the CF. Tielemans will also be starting.

They'll rotate but it won't quite be the under 12s. They'll be starting two of the scorers from the August game and McGinn's the type that seems to start every single game.

I can see it going to penalties actually if there's no extra time which I think is still the case at this round.

Which is why it's important to avoid a confidence sapping bumming. Start strong and go for it plus we'll have the likes of Danjuma, DCL, Chermiti, Gueye waiting in the wings when needed.

Dyche was never bothered about the cups at Burnley. Plus Luton game is critical. Don't win that and all the good work from Brentford just evaporates and it's back to crisis mode.

It will be a mix and match team so hard to make a case it will be stronger than a mix and match from team that's just finished 7th and is now 6th in the league.

Feels a lot like this one is just getting in the way of Saturday's game... much as I'd like to see us win something again, next weekend is far more important, so I'd start by picking the team for Luton then see what we can cobble together for this one.

I don't think we're going to win the cup but following up yesterday with another win would be great for moral and momentum. Maybe a couple of low key changes and trying a Garner/ Onana midfield pairing.

Maybe Dom/Beto to start first half then sub them when it goes south?

Idk, I forsee Chermiti getting the Simms treatment this season. He'll need more than 80th min subs to develop
