FFS, we stood to beat this lot in any fair encounter. Stripped of the GK and our attack and starting RB we are going to be very fortunate to get a draw.

If Ellis Simms has only been training for a week and can make the bench then there's absolutely no reason for James not to be on there

Benitez has been excellent...but his stubbornness could be his downfall...sometimes you have to be pragmatic about the situation. Yes he is a lazy player in training for sure...but his quality could be the difference as we saw many times last season.
