He also made some poor decisions during the game, including how he dealt with the ball that led to his signing off.
You would expect that good decisions would help offset his lack of pace but that certainly didn't happen.

Yeah he should have headed if and not tried to control it. Unfortunately the reactions and instant decision making abilities also begin to wane as you approach 40.
