2023/24 Ashley Young

He's a decent freebie to come on for the last 10 mins and use his experience to deploy the dark arts. Shouldn't be starting as many games as he has.

Injuries to others aside, playing him every week instead of Patterson for example is exactly the kind of kicking the can down the road we did for years with Coleman.

Not many players at his age can maintain levels for 90 mins.

His experience? Does he have to play another 500 games to learn not to play square balls across the back?

But they are, and full backs in 2024 are supposed to contribute a little bit more than defending.
That's one opinion like, another opinion is that we get them to defend, and defend well. Which they have done, by and large. We can't be relying on Coleman and Young forever for sure, but for the here and now, being the 4th best defence in the league, and watching most of our games this season, I'd argue we have bigger priorities at the other end of the pitch. Onions and that, like.

Ashley Young leads the team in mistakes leading to goals.
