2023/24 Ashley Young

He doesnā€™t deserve the stick he gets. Heā€™s had a great career and gives 100% - it takes a lot of professionalism and discipline to still be playing now at his age.

He's a good player. Wish he was a few years younger as he would be an asset to Everton.
That penalty tonight showed he's had big club mentality. He was getting that pen. He bloody made sure of it
other Everton player be like. Oh well. Ok. Lets play on then.

ā€¦.i thought he was poor in the first half, looked physically incapable of going past the opposition. Much better in the 2nd half when we pushed on a bit, got a few shots on goal and his professionalism shone through when earning the penalty.

Heā€™s probably a ā€˜safeā€™ option but surely thereā€™s a player who can offer more threat in that key position. Danjuma on the left, McNeil on the the right might be worth trying.

Afraid if he was a few years younger he would not be at Everton šŸ˜‰

It's how you engineer penalties. The whole front line could learn this.

The only reason heā€™s still playing now is because we are a basket case of a club managed by one of his mates. Not a chance any other club wouldā€™ve offered him a contract.

Did nothing, offered absolutely nothing and then Paul Dummet decided to put him in a headlock because heā€™s a shockingly bad footballer.

Mad the praise he's getting.

Other than Pickford and Beto he had the worst passing % of any player and he was dispossessed the most too.

He was absolutely atrocious first half and then all he does is run around for 15 minutes and people think he's incredible. Very odd.

Thatā€™s harsh, he also waved his arms about for the penalty because heā€™s a winner.

They don't think he's incredible, it's just a straight comparison with him and Harrison.

I don't think Harrison has even entered an opposition penalty area all season, yet Young, in the 89th minute, was in there and won us a penalty to rescue a point.

The goal we conceded was in no way down to him either, so if we're comparing him to Harrison, who actually does offer nothing at all, Young wins all day.

Still keep Jack for fresh legs off the bench if needed, but absolutely do not buy in the summer.

He was about to bicycle kick it into the net before he was DDT'd to the ground. Fantastic from the experienced Ashley, then basically forced a penalty to be awarded by hounding the referee to ensure he didn't crumble under pressure at the VAR screen.
