Transfer Rumour Ashley Young

It’s 100% a sad, worrying, indicative, unexciting, slightly depressing but massively shrewd, sensible and versatile signing. Unless we want to see Garner, Keane, Godfrey, McNeill and Iwobi at some point all having another bash at left and right back. Garner being good there, but potentially wasted.
Backup for positions is good on paper, until you get injuries, which our club are notorious for in positions where we're weak and that backup is too old for the actual job of playing for a long period, so no it isn't shrewd, it seems Kev has a single box to tick for his list of requirements, where that box is "Is he free?"

Why does everyone think this lad is going to be a backup?

It’s hard to get overly excited about a current player having an actual playing role at Everton who could of possibly been filmed on Betamax when he was growing up. Of course, I want him to do well and I hope he does.

I’m the same age and I wasn’t filmed on Beta

Young had a very good spell last year and kept Cash out of the side even after he'd regained fitness. Only twice can I recall him getting turned over, against Brentford when Toney got the drop on him to score at the far post and against Leicester when Barnes ran past him as if he wasn't there and scored a brilliant finish. Other than that, he more than held his own and had some great duels with the likes of Gnonto who'll probably be training with him next season. A lot of Villa fans (and fellow squad members) were pissed off when he was eventually released. A top pro.....look after him, he won't let you down.

Should be getting behind our players, he's a blue now, let's back him and see if he can help get us out of another relegation fight.
Will back / get behind players if they play for Everton….. however, in no way shape or form can I see this being a good / shrewd signing.

Never rated the player except for maybe a season or 2 when he was playing in a more attacking role and seemed dangerous (especially against us) well over a decade ago.

Now at 38 I think it is a terrible signing and cannot see it working well for either party.

Yeah there’s nothing to be gained from getting on a player’s back before it’s even announced.

That Fabrizio Romano fellow has said it’s done so I look forward to his unveiling next spring.

When you have 2 goalies on the bench and still can't fill it Ashley young is a welcome addition
Sorry mate, didn’t you know we can only sign world class players on swap deals because people who play a computer game say so?

Media team in overdrive lol: out in Switzerland to cover the pre season and needing to do the Young unveiling. Certainly if Young travels over there they need to rush it lol. This evening i guess we will announce him.
