As if we didn’t know the BBC pundits were a joke, now this !

These talking helmets in the media pontificating as experts are only interested in their own teams and the "Sky favourites". Baines wouldn't have ever crossed their minds because the only time they'll have seen him play was when it was against one of their beloved "big six" or "top four". Completely blinkered. How on earth they get paid for this s**t is beyond me.

The media just ask the pundits to come up with lists like this for clickbait or to just fill content with mindless pointless opinions. It justifies their jobs.

It becomes a problem only when people take them seriously just BECAUSE they're in the media.
Could not agree more. A never-ending sea of pointless filler and dumb articles because the constant churn of "content" must not be stopped for masses who have a 5 second attention span and need something new every 2 minutes.
The fact that the tax payer is obligated to provide 6/7 figure salaries to multi-millionaires is a disgrace, but what do you expect from the BBC. Can't wait til the start of next season when 47 tax payer funded "experts" give us their astonishing annual insight that the richest teams with the best players will finish at the top end of the league and the smaller squads with low quality will finish down the bottom end. Vital stuff indeed!

Don't understand why we need pundits at all. It's very rear that they come out with a bit of insight we all couldn't already see with our own eyes.
Same here it's what defines the modern era, most journalists are just well connected vloggers, in the past football pundits actually had some knowledge of football. Now you have the likes of Osman, Richards, Warnock, Defoe, Rednapp, Ferdinand and Savage talking about things the pub bore could point out. Also Hansen and Lawrenson for all their many flaws were actually world class players, most of these pundits were average or just relied on other players such as Ferdinand with Vidic.

BBC isnt tax payer funded.

I'm suprised how impressed I am with Gary Neville as a pundit and he seems like a decent fella. One of the first to condemn the ScabSix.
Decent show here with Carragher going around Bootle. He says stuff that would resonate with Everton fans. Unforgiveable to let yourself be bullied in front of your fans.

sadly this phenomenon is no longer restricted to football journalism

Condemned the scab six when it was in sky’s interest to do so. Went back to shagging then 24/7 as soon as they were back in the fold. Hasn’t mentioned it since.

Personally I don't bother watching TV or reading newspapers anymore, most journalists aren't journalists at all they are simply bloggers or activists. The BBC are the worst because they pretend they aren't biased, but are completely biased towards a economically right wing socially liberal Londoncentric view of the world. These journalists rarely leave London and have no clue, about anything outside or Islington and Shoreditch.

I watched ‘Greavsie’ last night off ITV channels. Good documentary that.
His early punditry was much better than I thought. Spoke the truth rather than the vanilla tripe the likes of Danny Murphy and Jenas come out with now.
You can't tell the truth anymore in case it upsets those in power. Sadly.

MOTD top ten free kicks on now. If Baines against Newcastle isn’t in there it’s an absolute sham, unbelievable strike of a ball.
