ARTETA RECEPTION

Doesn't bother me how any players have left, everyone has their reasons.

Its when some people **** off players for leaving here yet like you kinda said, why would they stay if they have better offers.

Really.

Bet Rooney and Lescott are well gutted they aren't fighting for mid table medicocrity right now.

It's the manner in which they leave which determines the reception. Rooney was a local lad and mad Evertonian and upped and jumped ship when the hype went to his head early doors. We expected better.

Lescott messed us about silly with the whole City circus, cumulating in that Arsenal game where the crowd sang his name and he ignored them. The tit was all over City being a "bigger club".

The funny thing with Arteta is that he's not as clean cut perceived. As Fox said he was in tears begging to go the previous season but the offer of a big contract soon made the whole thing better. But he done well for us and many can understand his reasons for moving on. So he should get a decent reaction.

Doesn't bother me that players leave. Obviously they have their reasons. But players like Barmby, Radzinski etc. **** the club off in the press and disrespect the years of support the fans have given them is what does my head in.

I thought Moyes stated that he convinced Arteta to stay because he thought we had a good chance of Champions League football last season ? Could be wrong though.

I actually approved of us letting him go. Mostly because he hadn't really performed here for some time, was not getting any younger and was one of Moyes' given that were always played inspite of form. We got a decent prize for a player who had nothing left to prove here, he got his move to a champions league club. Fair trade I say.

I wouldn't boo him, but I'm wouldn't cheer him either. I'd applaud him if he were gutsy enough to salute the away support.

Our players didn't seem to have a problem with him when we played City, maybe they know the truth of the whole issue.

Or maybe he was a bit of a tit.

I don't really care, he left and **** happens, i ain't gonna waste my energy hating any player for leaving the club i support.

70k a week convinced Arteta to stay mate, nothing more sadly.

Kinda my point. No one called him a mercenarie and ****ged him off for staying for the money, let when someone possibly leaves for the money (Pienaar) he gets slaughtered.

I do understand why sure but sometimes its best for us as fans to realise players will never feel the same way as players do.

I'm not mate, he was superb for us for a couple of years then not so superb and plays for someone else now. Nothing more to it than that really.

He was my idol and I loved him, why so mean? WHAT ABOUT MY LOVE?

I have nobody left now, NOBODY, sure I quite like Jags, hes got a lovely smile, Fellaini has superb hair and theres always Cahill, the little Aussie scamp.

But Arteta, he would light up games, sure he stank the place out for nearly 2 Seasons, but that was clearly Kenwrongs fault............

Who have I got left to idolise? Moyes? Jags? Cahill? As I say, I quite like them, but I dont love them.

Won't really matter as it's only a small section of away fans.

When they come to Goodison in March he'll be all over the papers saying how much he loved his time with us and is still an Evertonian, which means he'll get a good reception then. I think he would do anyway like, it's what he deserves.

He didn't love the club enough though to tell them that they can't really afford to pay him £75K a week so I'll take a pay cut did he? .... but he was quick to say publicly that he had taken a pay cut to go to The Arse.
Not his fault I know that the club overpaid him, but it's the one thing I remember from when I read the reports of him leaving. For me he's just another player in a red shirt now.
It's just a pity that the club has now made exactly the same mistake with Fellaini.
