Arteta OUT, Adam IN?

Which also makes him worth quite a bit. If he did go, we could sign maybe another 1 or 2 top quality players.

theres more 'less worth' players id get shot of first .....in order ...... yak , saha , vaughan , hibbert , silva ,mucha , yobo , gueye , beckford , anichebe , osman , distin , neville , howard . i wouldnt even consider selling any of the rest unless it was for really stupid money.

Why not? We would probably have another £10 million or so as well.

Let's put it this way, if we sold Arteta and brought in Adam, you'd struggle to find a happy Evertonian. Adam in for around £3m, then sure, but if we sold Arteta we'd be paying around £6m for Adam which is a silly price.

If Arteta is terrible over the next few months and Rodwell/Fellaini become irreplaceable in the middle, it may be worth cashing in on Arteta just strengthen other areas of the team.

Charlie Adam has had a half a good season after an undistinguished career on the fringes of the SPL and in the Championship.

Mikel Arteta has had half a bad season after spending 5 years being arguably the best player at a club that has consistently finished in top half of the Premier League.

Yes Arteta's (lack of) form is worrying, and Adam has been superb this season for Blackpool, but remember Steve Sidwell's first year at Reading? I'm not saying Adam will fade into oblivion like Sidwell but it certainly puts things into perspective. Anyone can have half a good season, remember Michael Ricketts? A great player does the business year-in-year-out - like Arteta has done until the past 6 months.

Quite how anyone can seriously consider swapping them, I dont know. Thanks to our completely inept board and the total lack of incomings, there is a massive wave of short-termism amongst Evertonians right now IMHO.

Short term this is a good idea.

But only as Arteta is out of form and Adam is in form.

However, I and we hope this will soon reverse. I'm sure it will.

I do pose this question though, what if Arteta doesn't get better?!

In Hindsight, maybe we should have entertained offers from Arse.

But we had no way of knowing this would happen.. He looks a bit unhappy here, or is it just me?

Gotta agree with everyone here. Mikel is an unbelievable talent and needs our support while he plays through this form, he'll be back do not worry about that. Charlie Adam would be a great signing but it's a huge pipe dream for us. We are never going to bid anything even close to what they are looking for. Anyway I think Holloway is going over the top with his gushing of Adam anyway and I don't think they'll get the £8 million they are looking for.

Adam has been great this year. Wouldn't mind having him but Holloway already said he's not selling him for less than 8M (the ****e bid 4M and he said double it) in january. Holloway holds all the cards why should he sell his best player? He's under contract for another year for like a ridiculous 5K?/week. Think he'll go for about 6-7M in the summer. If Adam goes into an "operarion shutdown" he's just going to hurt his futrure earnings as well so it doesn't matter whether or not he puts in a transfer request.

So in other words he's not going anywhere unless we bid big and right now we can't bid small.

Unreal, people actually want us to sign some Scottish BLobbyWobbly cos his side beat the RS twice and they are willing to swop our greatest player of the last 10 years.

Clueless Evertonians, its a sad day.

Its Arteta over Adam everytime for me, Arteta is pure class. I rate Adam but not as highly as Arteta.

IMO moyes should play Arteta on the right for abit, the opposition don't give him time on the ball in the middle which I think is the reason his form is suffering and he Just doesn't look confident. It worked great last season when he came back from injury, but others teams are just putting him under pressure now knowing take him out of the game and we lose are creativity!
Fellaini and Rodwell both could do a job in the middle together, both good going forward and back helping defend. Both good on the ball, meaning they can get the ball out to Arteta and Bily on the wings who both can create things from there.

I don't think anyone is advocating a straight swap, but rather that if he's still utter gash in the summer then £15m or thereabouts would be a no brainer for a player who is a liability right now.

He's playing like he knows he's untouchable and that's a dangerous mindset to have in a player. He needs to be benched put bluntly as Rodwell/Fellaini against City were by far and away a better midfield pair than Arteta/Fellaini have been recently.

Who would you rather lose in the summer - Fellaini or Arteta? I know my answer to that question.

This.

Short memories you lids, he is off form, simple as, he is still the best player we have. He is still magical, and he is Staunch Everton.

I believe in you Mikky.....x x
