Would they care? They obviously don't rate him and he has a number of players who are ahead of him, both regulars in the squad and players on the fringes.

Well i think its a different thought process that goes into international football, if it was a risk why not throw him one cap and tie him up forever, insterad of running the risk of defecting and getting egg all over their face. Arteta has said consistently he would never consider playing for England so it makes you wonder, what "friends" said he was considering defecting.
All publicity and lobbying for me!
Anyway if England dont want him, wel take him!

We've had non-natives in the rugby and cricket teams for years. Feck, in Yawnion they even pick players that were NZ internationals in League. Absurd situation it really is but there you go.
