I was reading about the French Contemporary artist, Dubuffet, in Provenance. Once again it looks childish but not as though painted by a child.
Not my type of thing, if I'm honest.
Mine neither. I just thought I'd mention it as contemporary art was mentioned earlier in the thread.
Some paintings you look at and think they'll look good in a certain room or place in your home. Can't imagine where that painting would fit in, other than at a gallery.
I had a look at some of his stuff but wasn't that taken by it really. I may read up on the artist to see what he was about; sometimes you find people to be interesting even if you don't like their work.

Bought this a few years back from an artist local to me in Nottingham. He lived the most unassuming life in a modest house with his five kids. Was going to be exhibiting in New York but wasn’t going over there himself because he couldn’t afford it which is crazy when you see the talent he has.
He basically has five or six paintings going on at a time as he can only do so much before having to allow the paint to dry before coming back to it.
Yes, I remember Nancy Kominsky. Goodness, it must have been around the late 70s when she was on TV. Bob Ross was another one I used to like. These people had a way about them that gave you the confidence to have a go yourself.
