Theres lots of talk of him going to spain, and barca being his first choice but it has all stemed from that one report from AS magazine in Spain and that also printed last week that Ronaldo has already signed for Real, which is completely wrong. So im taking that with a pinch of salt.

There is an interview with him on the bbc website titled "Arshavin sets sights on Barca move" but no where in the interview does he say that, he contradicts it saying something like spain and england are very similar and i have no preference. Its something to that effect so maybe just maybe he hasnt set his sights on anyone in particular yet, so if we can get in with a bid thats accepted and talk to the player, offer him a good contract and tell him that he will be getting 1st team football and be our star player which he wont be at barca, man u, chelsea, or arsenal then who knows.

Clutching at straws i know but he is exactly what we need and we should be moving mountains to get him, but instead the club is just waiting for things to drop into their lap and that never happens, if we really want him we have to make it happen and do everything possible to get him.

His Euro '08 performances have priced him out of a move to GP i fear, If he's on 50k p.w at Zenit you can guarantee he'll want more wherever he goes. If we offer him say 75k then we'd have to give Arteta, Cahill, Yak etc. the same

If only we went for him in January we could have paid for him out of the Jimmy Mac money back then but now he'd take our whole budget

Has there been any actual reports of Arsenal, Barcelona etc actually being interested in him? Scouts watching, or contact made with Zenit etc?

The only mention of Barcelona i have seen is from the player himself in an interview which was on the bbc tonight before the Turkey match, somewhat a la Arteta and Athletico, saying it would be a dream to play for them.

As for Arsenal, isn't that all just paper talk due to the prospect of them losing Hleb or whoever? Presumably they are not really interested as they should wrap up Nasri next week according to reports?
