he was shocking. In fact it was typical Russian, all mouth and no trousers - like the Russian tourists I met in Turkey, every one of them was arrogant and horrible. Fancy saying you want to play for Barca and then perform like a complete donkey against many of the Barca players.

They can have him, I want big game players.

That Senna for instance, he was quality.

I'd love to play for professional football for any team. Just because I've just made that statement doesn't mean I'll go out and play a stormer next time I play ball.

Well playing football for a professional team and saying I dream of playing for the leading nation of the side you are about to play are two different things, and if he was as good as everyone has been saying he was, and good enough to play for Barca, then we would have seen more of him tonight. Never heard his name hardly in the second half.
 

Oh how I look forward to all the "I knew he was crap really" stuff that will surely come over the next few days.

If this brings his level down a notch or two, then that's fantastic news. Arshavin would still be a fantastic buy for Everton.

I'm actually a little more hopeful after tonight.

I don't think anyone will try to disagree with you that he had a shocker tonight but I'm sure he was asked a question about them and responded as any player would when asked if he'd like to play for Barca. I think I remember from reading the quotes that he never thought that he'd ever get near them and that it would be a dream. Can't blame him for being honest.

Put a wig on Osman, change his nationality to Belarusian, adjust surname and post him off on loan to Antwerp or somewhere. When Belarus qualify for the World Cup and Osmanovic starts doing silky little runs and jinks then we'll make a mint.
