Everton are apparently one of the clubs who have enquired about bringing Arne Friedrich to the Premier League for a cut price of £2million.

Wolfsburg have had a £1million bid rejected and he fancies trying the Prem out apparently.

Arne Friedrich would be a great signing if we could get him for £2M. To think thats around half what Distin cost us and he is a hell of a lot better and has more caps in a week than he will ever have in his life time. If we can get him on a free that would be amazing for us. Hopefully this could see the end of Distin and maybe Yobo for £8M.

He is one of the best defenders at World Cup - solid in the tackle, smart and excellent on the ball. He didn't play so good for Germany before, mostly because he was playing out of the position at RB, but he is doing really well now. For 2m he would be a major steal... but it's only Mirror, so let's wait and see what's gonna happen. Apparently there is plenty of teams interested in him.

Good player and for that fee he will not be burden by a large transfer fee. I do however wish that we would look at British players so that we don't turn into Arsenal, Liverpool or Chelsea with their disregard for British players.

Right now we only have two certain starters(Jagielka and Baines) with an English/British passport when everyone is fit and that is not a lot.

I'm sure you could cobble a certain starter together out of parts of Hibbo/Neville and Rodwell as well. We have the technology...

Seriously? If true, I'd say another cheap-ish value player for competition/rest/injuries to avoid having the Hibbert scenario again.
