2023/24 Arnaut Danjuma

He just not very good. His goal scoring and chance creation doesn’t match his lack of defensive prowess. If he’s scoring 15-20 goals a season then you overlook some of that or manage around it, even Dyche. But he’s never looked like that player and this is his 3rd PL club.

Hes got the pace and two eyes for goal, unfortunately without any ability to actually put it in there.

Get the scoring version of him and we would have something

He scored 17 goals for Bournemouth earning him a move to Villareal where he netted 16 goals.

I expected alot more from him. I dont know if its because he hasnt had a run of games due to his defensive side but perhaps with a run he'd have proven himself as a goalscorer with us?

Maybe, also seems possible he just had a good 5 month run as most of those goals were the last 3 months of one season and first 2 months of the next. Seems telling that Villareal didnt play him at all the season right after he scored 10 for them. They didnt like what they saw even when he was actually scoring some...

I'm pro-dyche but I think we missed a trick with this lad, could certainly have gotten something out of him. Perhaps being injured during that grim run took his best opportunity from him.

….it is weird how little he’s been involved but it’s difficult to criticise team selection given how Dyche has got the job done.

They have probably made their minds up that he won’t be hear next year so they would rather look elsewhere.

I do agree ultimately, I also think we saw enough that he could have had more positive impact. Again being injured over our worst run was rotten luck. I think back to that interesting formation he played in against Villa away and it may have been our most complete performance

There’s games that he could have turned draws into wins and losses into draws

he’s a player that gets defenders thinking differently and creating space for others. Being stubborn is not a tactic

Manager made his mind up very, very early on that he was never going to use him regardless of the circumstances, and was simply never going to budge from that. Ashley Young and James Garner get played in his position before him ffs. I think it was a power play from Dyche against Thelwell. “I’m the manager and you don’t bring players here without my say so”

But dyche has no say on signings apparently, he just goes with what he’s given. He had no clue we signed Ashley young untill he walked into finch farm
