2024/25 Armando Broja

….he’s on a big contract until 2028 despite hardly playing for Chelsea. The transfer fee might not be the issue, he won’t want a pay cut with so long left on his current deal.

Problem is, he’s had potential for a long time, he hasn’t done anything effective for a very long time. I’d also be very wary of his hunger to play, he’s done nothing to justify us taking the risk off Chelsea.
40K per week for a striker is chicken feed in the Premier League. A good preseason and he could be very good. There are lots of players who have injury problems and once clear of them have excellent careers.

On his hunger:

“I’m 100 per cent sure there’s way more to come from me,” he told Everton TV after the recent 1-1 draw with Arsenal. “There’s still the best to come from me. There’s so much more I can do.

“I feel much better now. I’m happy I can come back on the pitch and play pain-free. That’s all I wanted — to be pain-free, to enjoy my football, play in front of the fans and try to do the best for the team. There’s going to be moments where the goals are going to come, assists are going to come, and I’m going to play way better.”

For the right club, with the right deal, and the correct contract structure Broja may prove to be a bargain. And i really stress the may.

Frankly I'd want him for a very very low fee (or on a free) with a contract structured around appearances, goals and so forth. No huge payday for Chelsea or a very injury prone and hitherto inconsistent player.

Could be like a Lookman or Moise Kean situation where it eventually clicks. No guarantees though and could waste a lot if cash waiting.

And Ekitike was available from psg for £12m (15m euros) and we didn't have a dime. Now doing mental gymnastics to justify keeping this lad on for a possibility of activating his what was it? £30m transfer clause?
Everyone at this club is absolutely out of their minds.

I can’t think of many players that do this.
I can think of players that want play pain free and that time never comes

I would certainly hope this is true. He`s been here since November and he`s hardly been on the pitch.

If it was a low fee say 8 million and a contract of 5 years at 40k a week it would work out around 19 million over 5 years is it worth taking a chance? The same with DCL is he worth the 140k a year he is asking for which is around 36 million over 5 years and absolutely little sell on due to age? Both injury prone.

Hi salmon fingers. Do you like butties?

Just curious.

No probably not worth £8m and 40k a week over 5 years. Was thinking more £29 and £500 quid a week with £100k goal bonus renewable each month he didn't fall in half. Gotta be brutal going forward. No more nice Everton.

The only way I can see us signing this guy is if we get a substantial reduce transfer fee...30 millions is the same price than Delap. Perhaps this is where the issue is...looking for easy options that could easily be convinced to join us rather than be ambitious and look to get those elite players moyes talked about in January.
