Are we part of the top 7 or top of the bottom 14

We SHOULD be top 7.

We're almost certainly going to be mediocre 9th unless we can be more consistent though.

Need another striker and a solid centre back to deepen the squad.

id like to say we are part of the top 7 but in my head I'm thinking we are top of the bottom 14!!! but seriously i think we are sort of in the middle if that makes sense. I hope after this season we will be part of the top 7 for definite.

Tough question really as we always seem to look like competing but fall away. As someone said above, the Pulis comment was interesting as Allardyce was implying the same before our game. There appears a genuine feeling in the game that we could be big hitters and compete again. Though as with all things football we have to go out and get the results as for years (despite looking like we could crack it) we have failed when the pressure builds. Just like results now really, not much to play for and we look a better team. Over to you Koeman!

I know this will probably result in some sarcastic answers, but where do you see us? It's often said the Premier League has mini leagues within it. I think we are now closer to being part of a 'top 7' than we are just being the best of the rest. By that I think it's more likely we'll break the top 6, as it now stands than one of the 13 teams below us catching us.

There is an argument that Chelsea are out on there own and then 11 points separate the next 6 teams.

It's all about perspective I suppose, but just interested in where you see us.
Is this is a backdoor way of trying to establish a Sooper Dooper Seven - a massive stretch of the term 'elite' to make it look like we've arrived?

Pretty obvious positioning, if so.

Think Pulis's comments were more an attempt at mind games by shifting pressure onto us and giving him an excuse when he can't catch us. Would say we are best of the rest at the moment but still not part of the party at the top. Of course spirits are up after the last few results but lets stick a proper run together before declaring we are CL challengers.

The 'top 7' is a commonly used phrase. The 'bottom 14' isn't.

The top 7 often gets into Europe, in particular the team that finishes 7th. 7th can be a key position in that respect.

No-one says 'The team that finished at the top of the bottom 14 got into Europe'. They just say the top 7 got into Europe.

That should answer your question mate.
