I was called to a work meeting last week and one of the staff mentioned about being short staffed, she was pulled up by the Shop Steward and told we were not allowed to use the word 'short staffed' as it was detrimental to short people so most use the word "under staffed" instead, we all burst out laughing so the meeting was ended ? ?

I'm happy in the knowledge that anything that can be laughed at will be laughed at where I work. It's a great place to work. Probably the best ever. Even the bosses are messed up.


Sapie worked there for a while. I remember him getting whacked across the head with a 14" dildo on one pleasant afternoon...

Mortally offended today as a real life Geordie called me a f***** prick. Right in front of my (impressionable) kids.

Never met a Geordie before.

I had inadvertently slapped a mitre ball into his grid with considerable gusto while trying to find the overlapping run of lad from Huddersfield in the hotel game of Waterpolo.

Oh that lad had missed the point of a holiday and was looking fighting.

I bit my tongue and didn't comment on the grammar, poor spelling, total lack of rational discourse or rise to the insults. But when one of them, responsible for the absolute worst atrocities against the English language announced with pride that she "worked in a secondary school" I think a vein started bulging on my forehead.

I simply commented that "well, we have a tory government, so schools are underfunded, the pay isn't great and there's a crisis in recruitment, so I guess they're taking on anyone these days."
