I'm not an apple fanboy, and thought that Steve Jobs press conference was pure comedy gold. I also found a statement which very much sums up my cynicism of apples so called all conquering feature less pretty looking toy.

"Waiter, this soup is delicious but has made me throw up. What on earth is going on?"

"There is nothing wrong with the soup, sir. It must be the way you are eating it"

"I paid good money for this soup - it should not make me throw up."

"Sir, I there is a flaw in the recipe of this soup which very rarely affects its consumption by a tiny proportion of our customers, but only if they eat it in the wrong way. You could buy these anti-vomiting tablets from us, which will prevent you form throwing up."

"I don't want to buy anti-vomiting tablets. I want a soup that doesn't make me throw up."

"Well, sir, are you aware that several other soups from other restaurants also make you throw up? But they aren't quite as delicious soups as ours, sir, so I really don't see why you're complaining."

After the programme updates from Apple I am having no trouble with mine, in fact I have had every version of the iphone and I find it invaluable, would be lost without it.

I find it a bit crap that Apple are trying to pull other phone brands into all this. Fact of the matter is this problem is effecting the iPhone 4 a bit more than other phones (and it does happen to all of them, including mine, although you have to hold the phone a really awkward way to get skin contact across the pertinent points). The best part of all this was Jobs's ridiculous outburst in the initial response to the problem!

Vote Microsoft

God, no.

I'm an Apple guy in as much as Macs are clearly better than PCs (I work with Microshite and have a Mac at home) but I am not so much of an acolyte that I worship at Jobs' altar. That said, they are quite obviously two steps ahead in the game on almost everything.

No real desire for an iPad, though, and I've never felt any need for a smartphone of any sort. Just a computer that works.
