Appiah - what happened?

Anyone know what happened to Appiah, onetime transfer target of David Moyes?

I know he was badly injured, and read that he couldn't head a ball again without potentially dieing, but whether that was true or not...

then he was released and was looking at joining somewhere on a free.

If he could be rehabilitated then would bolster a weak area in the squad. On his day he was one of the best in the world. He not that old either.

Did West Ham sign him?

He bought out his contract at Fenerbahce (sp?) so he's now a free agent but he's after [Poor language removed] brewsties & so is hardly a cheap option. I'm sure Moyes knows of his availability but if he doesn't think he's a worthwhile signing I'm perfectly happy to trust his judgement

I think he had a blood clot in his leg which could have been fatal. I wouldn't touch him with a barge poll because of his injury problems but when fit he is a great player.
