New version of Ubuntu out (version 11.04) and it's pretty amazing stuff. The last version was **** but this version is the best yet.

I prefer KDE so went with Kubuntu at first. Then Mepis, now I'm on Mint.

I can see the appeal but the front end of the new version is top notch and such an easy switch from Windows.

Yep. Definitely. Some of the software is just amazing, and I'm in love with the package manager.

And if people really need to then WINE can run most windows stuff.

Wireless can be an issue, but mine was ok. The only problem I had was getting the printer drivers, it took all of 10 minutes.

Wireless seems to be an issue depending on the version you use. 10.04 ubuntu was **** for wireless connection. Printer drivers are largely dependent on what you use. HP is a piece of piss for example with an official driver for linux. I think the open source software is often better than the stuff windows has the only issue is if you want to play games it's a total pain in the arse in the main.
