I was just wondering, has anyone here had them on their teeth, the ones that you can take out or train track ones?
Why did you decide to get them, was it just to make them look straighter or was it anything else? :confused3:

I had braces, that you could take out, to straighten a tooth that was way off line. As my dad was head of electronics at
queens university Belfast , and did work for the
rvh, he got me seen by the dentistry dept at the RVH in Belfast and their orthodontics dept. I remember it wasn't pleasant at the time but was a precurser to where I am now, ie dentures top and bottom open wide anyone  :o

I had them when I was 14, got them put on in Rodney Street. Started with the train track ones, then had the removable type. I had them because my mum said I would have them. Simple as that.

My mate and I had them at the same time. We used to wind the orthodontist up by telling stories on each other. Mine was that this kid used to get loads of caramel sweets and put them on a radiator to melt into one big caramel mass. Then he would take this huge caramel and chew it in his bracey teeth for about 1 hour. What fun.

Yea i had them when i was about 13-14, i also had very bad acne as a teen as well, so got a mixture of Jaws and pizza face skits when i was in school. Didnt really bother me in all fairness, probably cos it was mostly my mates that was taking the piss. But looking back if i wasnt popular or self confident it could have ruined my life!!!!

I had the removable 1s and i had both the acne and the braces for about a year.

I actually went the dentist when I was about 13 and asked for them - strange child...

Decided to get them because I thought a tooth was starting to go a bit out of shape, braces sorted it out (y)

A dentist is the only man that can tell a woman when to open and when to shut her mouth, and get away with it.

What does the dentist of the year get?...A little plaque

:P

I had them! My teeth were a mess. I had strange teeth, my 2nd teeth came in before my baby ones fell out. So I had two sets of teeth. They had to pull the baby ones out so the 2nd ones could be move into place.

I had a removable brace put in when I was 11 for 12 months. Then had train tracks top and bottom for two and half years. Then when I was 15 had them removed and had a thin strip of metal put on the back of my teeth.

Which to this day still remains on some of them.
