the reason i never get names and numbers on the back, for me it's about the club not players. I wear the shirt to show my support for the team, players come and go.

I'm not ashamed to admit I've got two with my surname on the back -- one I bought on my last trip over in 2007 with my favourite number (16), the other I got from my sister for my 50th birthday (with 50 on it, of course). Rarely if ever wear them, though. Two of nine Everton tops in my possession.

I've also had shirts with Kilbane 03/04, Cahill 04/05, Arteta 05/06, Johnson 06/07, Anichebe 07/08, my own name 09/10, Cahill again 10/11.
My dad's best man was good friends with Cahill during his time at Everton due to their 2 wives knowing each other, he gave my 04/05 shirt to Cahill himself which he signed and he gave me a football also signed. Out of any of my possessions relating to Everton, these are the ones I treasure the most.

This is the way to do it. With Hibbo you know that the shirt will never make you angry that he left or we sold him too cheaply or turned into a right snide.
Rather have a Hibbo shirt than an Arteta one, even if Hibbo's a bit poo.
Always unsafe to get a kid or a new signing. I don't get names, but if I did Hibbo, Baines, Distin, or Jags this season for me.
I begged my first team to print me out a number 29 shirt when I was about 7 or 8 years old. They did as well bless them, I was the only number 29 in the Hampshire county leagueDanny cadamatari

I've never had a name of my shirt. I am too old lads. We used to be excited about a number on our backs but once the stitching frayed then we had the number hanging off. So with me white Alan Ball boots and a half hanging number 8 I used to be the bees knees. Ah the good old days.

Was sat in an internet cafe in england thinking to get an everton signed shirt off ebay before I moved over to Asia. Was sat with my then girlfriend for about 4 hours waiting till the last minute to place bids on ROONEY shirts signed by the whole squad.
The prices were just too high.
I was then so proud telling these Asian lads how rooney was the next big thing and that everton were the real team in liverpool.....I turned a few of them.
Then he went off to United the same summer.
Was also close to getting a Kanchelskis shirt but was abit of a ffatty due to a sports injury and so waited a bit till I got back training so id know the right size. He then went off to Fiorentina.
What im trying to say is that I also have a track record of almost buying shirts of players about to leave.
Dacourt, Speed and Materazzi were almost on my back as well.
I havent even thought of a name on a shirt since rooney left and havent even bought a shirt.
Those were depressing times, hope we now dont keep selling our best players.
