Good thread idea this, as I'm always on the lookout to rent (ahem) some good films and have lost track a bit.

Watched Inglorious Basterds which was super, wasn't expecting to like it that much to be honest.

Renting Men Who Stare At Goats Mar at the moment.

Recommend away.

Inglorious Basterds was just brilliant! If only Tarantino was actually around during WWII........

since thursday i've been on the best good movie streak of my life:

-Where the Wild things Are (worst of the bunch but good for its creativity in character development)
-Ratatouille
-Across the Universe (hadn't heard good things going in but i thought it was great)
-Being John Malcovic (one of the best movies i've ever seen)

i also watched Wall-E in between, which is a brilliant movie but i didn't count it because i have seen it before

You only just saw that??!?!?!?! I love that movie!

is district 9 the aliens in sa movie

Yes.

Yes.

watched first 15mins of district 9 then turned it off wife didn't like it and it seemed a bit pants but i believe it gets better.
wasn't overly impressed with avatar either.

Watched Transiberian recently , couldn't decide whether it wasa good film or not.

Tried watching Valkeryie last night , but fell asleep:@

District 9 was [Poor language removed]...just [Poor language removed]. Moon was good considering it had a budget of about two quid. I was convinced I'd seen Kevin Spacey after watching it rather than just hearing his voice...which reminds me ----> :):(

Best indie film I saw last year was Wendy and Lucy. Pretty sad road movie. Best foreign language film = Jar City (set in Iceland...a grimmer version of Wallander).

I loved Moon. Sam Rockwell is one of my favorite actors. District 9 was also very good. Both two of my favorite films last year.

I just saw a doc called Man on Wire, brilliant.

Good film. The Bridge was another good documentary. Creepy, but mesmerising.

The Academy Awards dont seem to think so (y)

Wouldn't mind seeing Invictus. [Poor language removed] name for a film like. Sounds like a decongestant.

The Hurt Locker is quality.

Avatar - still yet to see

Watched Schindler's list again last night. Never ceases to blow me away.

Valkyrie is ok, unless you know the facts, then it is a bag of squidgy things.

Oldish film, but I advise "The 13th Warrior". Light hearted, but also very good. Good Viking folklore stuff.
