Back in about 1981, I lived in Chester and started pub quizzing - was astonished at how seriously some people took it...

Went with my pub team to Liverpool for a quiz tournament at The Pen and Wig in town. I got asked who the most capped Everton player was. I remember that I answered (after a pause for thought) Alan Ball but also remember that I was wrong. Afraid I don't recall the right answer. No doubt somebody will supply said answer - LCAB? RBG?

Isn't it a trick question now - in that Pat Jennings was briefly a registered Everton player in the eighties?

Its either Ratcliffe or Southall, can't remember which one. But, yes, Jennings has more caps if you wanted to throw in a sneaky curve-ball.
