According to reports on NSNO, Everton will sign him after a succesful ten day trial. A US holding midfielder, who looks to be a bright prospect. Never heard of him, any of our US based member have more information?
A life-changing trip : Soccer : Ventura County Star

Everton's newest recruit Anton Peterlin has revealed to the Ventura County Star that signing for Everton is "a dream come true".

The San Francisco born holding midfielder said: "It’s cliché to say, but it really is dream come true, I’ve always aspired to play at the highest level."

Peterlin was recommended to David Moyes by his English coach Graham Smith and joined the Blues on trial last month. Despite originally training with Andy Holden's reserve squad, Peterlin quickly made the step up.

"“I was more nervous Monday, the first time out, but we had a good training session in front of Moyes and spoke to him at lunch.

“It was different than American training, it was very directed at pressure, pressure, pressure. Very concentrated. Very organized. We did some technical work. It was a good mix. The two hours flew by.

“I was so in love with it, I enjoyed the level on which they played. I thought I played pretty well throughout.”

It's a bit like USA's got talent.

“It’s not a glamour position,” said Peterlin. “I get my joy when we clean up dirty little messes and get into scraps.”

“Anton really impressed myself and the coaching staff with his attitude and undoubted ability,” said Moyes in a statement released by the Fusion. “We are therefore delighted to give him the chance to establish a professional career here at Everton.”

“I’d never seem him and he’d never seen him,” said Smith. “But we both looked at each other and we knew who was running the game.”

I hope 'Ant or Dec' is good enough to be seriously considered for next season and not a bit-parter like Secundo Castillo.

Glad to see another Yank coming into the squad. Never heard of the kid, but if Moyes sees something in him then he must be good. Or at least have the potential to work from the reserves and improve to the 1st team action. Makes me happy to be American.
