Anthony Gordon

I can't understand why Rashford doesn't drop his salary. He's clearly doing well there, and it sounds like his salary is like 500k a week or something absurd. He could half that and be rich beyond dreams.
I am sure he will, he already reduced it by 40% to make the initial loan occur. The bigger issue for ManYoo is the amortization, they want to spread those annual PSR impact via a high enough transfer fee - Barça aren’t in need of meeting that number and instead of negotiate it down. The leverage remains with Barça here else they get a player they don’t want with enormous wages that few other clubs would consider taking on

We’ll see but I believe he will be reloaded at worst but at best they reduce that fee to say 15-20M - either way, I believe he will be staying

I can never really understand why Barca don't make more money from the academy. I know they promote way more than other clubs, but when you look at how much City generate from academy sales.

Philosophy - Barça see Masia kids the foundation and its model precludes them from trying to turn it into a business model in the transfer market and treat the kids they groom into commodities on the market vs integral to building a competitive 1st team

City can never be like Barça for a host of reasons - I wouldn’t even know where to begin

Oh, I get that, but they never seem to get much, even for those they do sell. Bojan and Bartra spring to mind.

Is this Barca looking to disrupt the England camp? Get Tony all the way to the wet signature and then tell him it depends on whether Rashford wants it. Have them hate eachother over the summer and see how the seeds of discord derail the English WC march, eventually knocked out to the Spanish in the quarters

Six goals and four assists all season in the league, whereas KDH got eight and seven respectively. Beto got nine goals and one assist.

To be fair, he did score ten in the CL, which I suspect caught Barça's eye, but delving deeper four were against Qarabağ and two Union St.-Gilloise.

It's probably more to do with this style of play. Rashford is direct as a player and Gordon is probably even more so. For whatever reason barca must feel they need someone very direct as a player to run and commit people. It's the only thing I can think of as such a large fee from club whose finances have been under a cloud for years, for a player who isn't top tier seems mad.
