I dont even like Gordon, but its symptomatic of the toxicity that is, according to some, apparently not a thing at the club.

There were stories last summer that we would settle for £40m, I'm not too worried about this, there seems to be something moving along with it and if it does fall down because the club are holding out/being stupid then I wouldn't be surprised if Thelwell just walks, job is more trouble than its worth.

He’s right, Gordon has a lot of very good attributes and he probably lights up the stats computer on a lot of metric.

He is a poor decision maker first and foremost but a good coach with a coherent system can make a big difference to that, and he’ll have that.

I suspect a lot of people who are offering to drive them there themselves will be slamming the club for selling when with good coaching he comes good in a year or two. In reality it’s the right deal at the right time for all concerned.
