One simple thing could have made a big difference...
Accepted the 60m from Chelsea for Gordon (which was always a crazy offer), but insisted either we had him back on loan till January when we could replace him, or give us a player on loan as part of the deal back then...

We'd now have 60m to work with in this window...and as things turned out, wouldn't have missed Gordon at all

That it wasn't £60m, as was confirmed by Lampard, but some people continue to quote that number.

I have no idea if there was or was not a bid or what value any bid could have been. All guess work.
