Yes, agree he was one of the better players last season but that shows how low standards have become. He should absolutely be a squad player getting 15 to 20 mins at the end of the game.

Didn't Gordon only get 3 goals and 2 assists last season?

Add in his set pieces are woeful whilst he's a decent young player I think we could replace him currently with £45-50 millions in the bank.

Richarlison with his 10 goals and 5 assists is a different story !

Part of the issue here is that a lot of the fan base will view Gordon as the player that connects the fans with the team being the local lad. It is feasible that Keane Lewis-Potter is a better player but selling Gordon would send out a bad message that the media would jump all over leaving a black cloud hanging over us heading into the new season. The great togetherness the club had during the final weeks of the season could be lost.

If there's truth to the story, I reckon it's a case of Tottenham thinking they've got us over a barrel with the FFP deadline. If that passes without a deal being struck, I expect they'll drop their interest in Gordon.

Selling our talisman and best prospect to the likes of them would be extremely galling, but then I suppose this club's self-respect walked out the door with Rooney in 2004.

I'm a huge fan of Gordon. Could be world class. Might end up flatlining though. Over 40m feels a decent risk/reward for me.

Then you sell the only genuinely good player you've produced in 15 years, one who bleeds the club, has every single quality in terms of attitude you need to instill in the team.

We could have sold Barkley for probably much more than what we ended up with had we not kept hold for too long and I imagine Davies may have had a few take a look after his breakthrough season.

Gordon may develop into a top player or he may join the likes of Ross, Tom, Walcott, Lookman, Gray etc of young players who burst onto the scene but never progressed into that next level of talent.

£45-50 million and we would have to have a real think especially when its a full profit on the books in regards to FFP which would potentially give Fronk a warchest to rebuild the whole side.

About the players you say mate, none of them showed the attitude and determination that Gordon has.


Barkley yup brilliant talent, but grade D attitude and brainless and always was.bwas never a hidden thing he was a gobshite.

Davies sorry mate but no one with eyes would compare him with the potential of Gordon. He had huge physical limitations from the off.

Lookman, never ever produced anything in the top division to show anything. Same with Gray - they where both lower division players bought on potential.

Walcott - had end product but zero consistency


Gordon has everything at such a young age he needs to add end product to be an absolutely top player now


Or sell him and take two punts on players with zero passion for the club, who are probably already older and who have not shown what he already has.
