so, cars gets booked for screaming about a challenge in the 8th minute that was marginally less bad than what saw mikel sent off.

only everton players could get a yellow first half

sidwell on carsley, he stamped and then twisted his studs on cars ankle, not a red? not even a yellow... waste of space

Also, had chelsea scored from a freekick given in a place on the left wing that had little if any relation to a clear and blatant red card foul 20 meters back, that they then scored from, i would be seething.

some of the yellow cards tonight were beyond reason.

I thought the referee was ok really, he gave us yellow cards for no reason atall, but we were lucky really because carsley couldve been sent off minutes after his yellow card...

Sidwells challenge was dirty, and i was staggered that Baletti onyl got one yellow card the whole match! cos he was playing dirty...

I'm not gonna comment on tonights game cause i only saw the last 15 mins but seriously mate give it a rest with the bitching about referees and some percieved biased towards us.

It seems that after almost every game these days you moan about the ref.

Its making you and Everton fans in general (as a fan site is representitive of its fans) look like whiny bad losers who cant accept defeat. And i hate it when fans of other teams do it so i dont want Everton fans to have a rep for it.

I respect the hell out of Moyes and the players because very very rarely do you hear them blaing referees and singling them out in interviews unlike a lot of other clubs and managers.

Some decisions go against us, and some decisions go for us.

Its so easy to say there's some conspiracy from the FA and the referees to have everything go in favour of the big 4 and we are little hard done by Everton and every one is out to get us. Yes the FA probably are biased towards the clubs that bring in the money, but i dont think that goes for referees.

They are honest hardworking guys who have a very very difficult job to do. They call each decision as they see it. And have a split second one chance only in which to do so. Then everybody comes along and analyzes each decision numerous times before proudly declaring that the ref is [Poor language removed] and needs to be shot.

Yeah if the ref isn't sure about a decision and has 40,000 fans screaming at him to give the decision for the home team he probably will, thats just human nature and gets the benefit of that. It sucks but honestly you're never gonna change that.

Now if it was justifiable and blatant [Poor language removed] biased refereeing (see Clattenburg, Marc, ref. Liverpool game) then i fully agree.

But i think you really go overboard with this obsession you seem to have with refrees costing us games and giving decisions against us but not for us.

Even if it does exist it certainly doesnt to the level you seem to be suggesting it does.

I thought the ref had a good game tonight mate!

Ok he was a little card happy, but he was card happy with both sides and he needed to take control of the game. I thought Neville was lucky not to be sent of and so was Carsley in the first ten minutes.

Ive seen penelties given for instances such as Lescott's arm acorss pizaros face too, especialy at home against top four sides. Lescott was lucky not to have got booked for his reaction to Belletis (my new most hated player) foul!

Having said that for me Belleti should have went too!

did nobody else see sidwell stamp and then screw his studs into carsley?

is this bizarro-world?

no way near the ball, eyes on the man, in went the studs and then he went to hurt him with the ankle twist, on purpose.

abhorrent.

Dont think anyone could have missed it mate.

Dirty git.

Belletti should have been given a yellow for diving in the box after Lescott cut him off and he went down like he'd been shot.

heavens be praised, im not the only individual to notice refereeing errors.

if such decisions went against the so called top four in something like a comparative amount, then its in theory all square.

but the continued and incessant bias that some are prepared to swallow up then ask for more is what i am intent on taking to task.

when the decision makers are automatically absolved then more wrong is being invited to be heaped onto previous.

back to that modern day dirty word - 'responsibility'.

Deffo yellow card in my book.....

Having said that it was a typical cup tie with neither team holding back,so it was not easy on the ref. On the whole I don't think we had too much to complain about. If Carsley had slid in like Mikel and got sent off,how many on here would be screaming top 4 bias?

Lets not forget how lucky Neville was to stay on the pitch as pointed out by Neiller.
The game was there to be won. We didn't take it but all is not lost.......we have 90mins at Goodison to make amends.
Chelsea are so beatable!

I don't think the ref was good but he probably did us much for us as against us. The red card for Mikel was a soft one and both Neville and Jags could have gone for second bookings late on. I don't think either deserved to go but they both made fouls having been booked and the home crowd were baying for the scores to be levelled. It could have happened.

The ref. looks pretty bias at first and have made alot of funny decision through out the match, and he was giving yellow cards to our player like it was some sort of party invition cards.

So, in the 2nd half he couldn't book our player when it was worth a yellow card, we did give an advantage with the extra man, it was such a shame, Pienaar couldn't play and Arteta is ban for this match, we could have got a won from the match, if we have our creative player on the field.

The ref was not consistant and what annoyed me was the chelsea players round him every time he made a decision against them it must have been intimidating for him.
I agree sidwell should have gone for his lunge at carsley but on other occasions he was fair, i think it was a hard game to ref but he wasn,t too bad.

I agree. Players could have gone on both sides, but if he lets things go you can't complain about things like SWP on Lescott or some tasty challenges by Chelsea defenders, when Jags, Neville and Carsley get away with it.
