Anichebe and Vaughan

I always thought the opposite , I think he rated Vaughan much higher but became frustrated by the injuries and perhaps the perceived changes to his personality & attitude towards the end of his time here.

I think Moyes gave him as many chances as he could really. In fact you could say that about both. Victors injuries were as a result of a nasty tackle where Vaughans body looked made of cardboard. That may be what swung it.

Vaughan is still probably two or three years away from his peak and his injury problems seem to have abated somewhat.
I would love to see him back at Everton and I do think that he will still be a premiership striker in the next couple of seasons.

I always thought Anichebe would make it ahead of Vaughan. Always seemed to me that Vaughan's game lacked direction whereas it was obvious what Vic was/ is good at.

Standing around, sulking, falling over, walking, ambling slowly towards a lose ball he was never going to get?

If James Vaughan had stayed injury free he would be 1 of the best strikers in the World at the moment.

Damn shame really.

Ability-wise Vaughan was def the better player. Would have been an England int'l were it not for injuries

On one occasion when the yak went to a AFCON moyes spoke to Vaughan and his people and told him how he was the man to lead the side and expressed his total confidence in his ability , but injury stepped in again I think. At roughly the same time I heard a Coach describe Anichebe by saying "sometimes he looks like he's never played football before "
