For some reason we seem to conflating the role of a CEO of a football club with that of a DoF or Sporting Director / Head of Recruitment . Kinnear occupies none of those roles.

Maybe not directly, but if anything conflates roles it’s the clubs new ‘football leadership’ structure, and Kinear sits squarely at the top of the football operations pyramid, not just general club operations.
It’s already been quoted how he’s been directly involved in new player acquisition negotiations.

it’s infuriating me. i know we need more players and WILL get them in

Underwhelming appointments and so it is proving to be. Where is the ambition with a bunch of dinosaurs and wannabes with little to not track record of success.

But that’s not entirely true is it ?
When Moshiri first assumed ownership we bought players in before deadline day .
The problem was lack of strategic planning not slow acquisitions.
Currently , this window has seemed a little confused and very poorly planned . We have made some good signings, but that impression of lack of preparation is strong .

Angus is the type of guy that will easily talk himself out of any sacking...he is very good at selling crap. I guess that's how he got the gig. I still can't believe that we couldn't get somebody with a higher profile in the world of football...

That was largely because we didn't have a pot to pee in.
Although people won't accept it Thelwell did the best he could in the circumstances.
We will see how good this new structure is. I am still hopeful. Fingers crossed , but they must sort out the right side !.
