These "departments" seem to be:

- Data Analytics
- Football Operations
- Recruitment / Talent
- Trading / Negotiations

Open to correction there. I would like to know the scope of "Football Operations" which sounds a bit vague. Perhaps that's areas like Sports Science and other functions which don't fit in the other areas.

With the CEO and manager, that's a group of six. I'd imagine they would try to achieve a consensus view on a player, but any significant doubt on the part of one person would probably be enough to block a move. It would be fascinating to know what weight data would have in decisions. You have to have that, but it can't form the basis of everything.

There'll probably be a committee of sorts for player recruitment, with the head of analytics on it as well as Moyes, the head of talent and whoever is going to negotiate wages and transfers, chaired by Kinnear. They'll agree on targets and what they're willing to pay and then the negotiator will try and get the players. Football is a stupidly complicated business these days. Cloughie used to turn up at a player's house and not leave until they'd signed, that ain't happening these days!

I know these guys all have media training and aim to come across as personable, and to convey positive, optimistic messages about the future, but I watched that video and found him personable, and have a generally positive and optimistic feeling about the future.

The use of ‘World Class’ when describing Moyes was a bit foolish as was the suggestion that the Academy and young players are important to Moyes. Other than that I liked his style….positive, clear, concise and aggressive, which is exactly what we need to be as a club going forward

Yeah I read the bit about us putting together a world class football operations team and got a bit excited thinking we'd managed to poach to some genuinely top people but then he called Moyes world class and I realised he's just being unnecessarily hyperbolic.

When he mentions an "unprecedented summer" in the interview, I feel that comment has been misinterpreted by some (both on here and in the wider media). Rather than suggesting that we will see genuinely world-class players come through the door, I think he is referring to the volume of work that needs to be done with having many players out of contract.

Of course it would be nice to see a few world-class players join us - surely that should go without saying. However, I think we need to manage our expectations a little. I would prefer the team to be built piece-by-piece over time rather than in a hurry.

Yep that’s exactly what he meant. I’ve not read the media reaction to it but I’d have thought most supporters would have interpreted it that way. I’d be surprised if we spent anymore then £100m net and we may not even spend that

I just thought it was worth mentioning seeing as there were a few comments yesterday and there was an article (admittedly from a terrible source), which was wrote in a similar tone. Fingers crossed it will be an exciting summer with players joining who can add value, but I would hope that we don't break the bank for the sake of it - lessons ought to have been learnt.
