Any anglers on this forum recommend a monthly fishing magazine? might buy a 12 month subscription for the fisherman in my family this year.
Also, Ipod docking stations, which one is best?

i used to get improve your coarse fishing not bad but as you improve it becomes repetative i recently got a promotenal letter they were offering a large discount you can buy on line as well

Thats the thing, if I get him something he wont learn from maybe he thinks I am underestimating him, and that is a whole can of worms I don't need.

It's not just for beginners (IYCF this is), it has new bait tips, new methods, reviews of venues etc. It's a decent read for any angler. No angler would turn their nose up at that popping through their letterbox every month.

Cracking toilet read to be honest.

I get Pike and Predator magazine myself, but it only comes out about 4 times a year....

Trout love maggots ( I am not referring to the Wife by the way)

When I fish for Salmon I mainly use the old Garden Fly (Worm)

Caught a salmon on the southern Dee, just below Tongland dam in Kirkudbright years ago, went like a train(y)

Dunkirk a little advice do not go online to order maggots.

A good carbon fibre rod about 12 footer and an inexpensive fixed spool reel. Main line 3lb, hook length 1.5 lb but be prepared to go down to a 1lb bottom 16 hook or 18 size.. Personally I would prefer to use casters for bait. As for the float a good straight weighted peacock waggler and you are away.
