Player Valuation: £70m
Went to visit Andy Rankin today as he was my latest interview for my book. He was 70 years young two weeks ago and was great company. He will always be remembered for his heroics in the penalty shoot out against Borrussia Moenchengladbach.
I met Kevin Langley last night who was also great company with next weeks line up of John Hills and Terry Phelan then on Saturday I have along drive down to Kent to meet Bobby Laverick. For the younger readers on Bobby you will have to Google it.

Quality mate. What made you decide to squeeze Terry Phelan into the book if you don't mind me asking?

Andy Rankin's 70 ? Christ, I'm getting old.

Always liked him, a really decent understudy to Gordon West.

Because he did something I dreamt about as a kid. My dream was to play for Everton and irrespective as to how good or bad fans may judge players, they are all my heroes.

Spot on mate. Just thought it was a strange choice but like you say, I suppose once any of them pull the royal blue jersey on they all become heroes of ours to some degree.

Quite sure John Hills went to All Saints in Kirkby, my mind is failing me. im convinced his mum was the receptionist there, ask him?

This is going to be some book!
My aim is to bring out 4 volumes depending on the success of the first issue. I am looking for celebrities and have got Liz McLarnon on board also invited Amanda Holden to give their insight from a celbs point of view. It all helps being Evertonians doesn't it?

Sounds great! Andy Burnham seems a genuine Blue.

I've got Kevin Sheedy, Joe Parkinson, Kevin Ratcliffe and Mike Trebilcock lined up in the next few weeks too. Busy, busy busy
that is one hell of a couple of weeks, would love to talk to all of them, even Trebilcock ( I wasnt even alive at the time; but 66 FA cup final should be required watching for any everton fan). gotta love - Eddie Cavanagh :)

Always loved Joe Parkinson - he reminded me, in a way, of the tenacity of Reidy in his pomp .. him chasing Roy Keane literally off the pitch in the Cup final is a cherished memory

Awesome mate, well done - when you dont play for Everton achieveing something like this is is the next best thing - you should be as proud of yourself as the we all are of you.

Have to say i have a lot of admiration for you doing this in the context of all that has happened with the club! Well in mate!
