Got an HTC Desire S at the weekend, my first smartphone, and am gradually getting my head round Android, bloody hell there's a lot to it. Just keep finding our more and all the time.

Does anyone have any worthwhile app recommendations?

What sort of stuff are you looking for?

One app I'd recommend is FootMob - Soccer scores, great for keeping up to date with scores from around the world. Pings you about a minute after the goal has gone in.

APN widget is well worth a download. Puts a big button on your phone desktop you can switch on or off which stops all data charges. Will save your battery and possibly a fortune.

Advanced task manager is necessary to kill any tasks running in the background.

BBC Iplayer is good,

Tapatalk is a usual forum app for selected forums but check whether you go on any that use it before you bother.

Carcast is a great podcast player.

Flickkick football is just fun.
