English game is to fast for him, he'd be do much better in the slower Serie A.

Sadly his 1 goal in 3 years and lack of creativity counter balances that to tipping point.

I genuinely don't think that he's one of the big issues at this club. The midfield has so much pressure and expectation on them at the minute because we have no wide players so everything goes through the middle. I still believe Gomes is a good squad player.

As I said the lack of width means we over analyse and demand much more from the central midfielders. I don't think he's amazing by any stretch, but similarly how many times has Davies or even Doucoure been really good this season? Gomes hasn't had a good season but he's not the only one in that right.

Davies had a good 2 or 3 months not that long ago, then was inexplicably dropped. Doucoure has been largely decent all season.
