I thought he played ok. Kept the ball in tight spots. The yellow was because Salah ran straight into him. How could he get out of the way? He was better today than he was 1st Derby.

Yeah, I thought he was okay. Particularly in a game where we needed discipline and retention of shape and cover.

He was ok, did a lot of fouls though but I think that helped slow the game in our favour, Klopp was going mad about it for a reason

Been reading a lot of really scathing reviews, but I thought he was fine. Not quite sure what he did wrong.

Gave me a heart attack a couple of mins into the second half when he nearly took someone out on a yellow.

Hope we offload both him and Delph in the summer.

Two players who ultimately dont do a lot - think there will be a fair amount of hungry better players out there who could come in and do a job in the squad.

After Iwobi I doubt Brands will be eager to buy from the Premier League again.

Davies has well and truly usurped him in the team now and it will rightly be Davies Doucouré and Allan against Southampton.

With that in mind, I wouldn't be surprised if we try to offload Gomes in the summer and replace him with somebody a lot more mobile, not that I think he's a bad player but because he's too slow and cumbersome and gives away far too many unnecessary fouls.

Shame if so as Godfrey & Doucoure has shown there are bargains to be had.

TECHNICALLY Godfrey and Doucs were bought from the championship.

They are different type of players mate.

Gomes has been poor at times, but I think his laid back style winds people up.

Hes never going to be Allan, but he has a different skill set.

People expecting some players to be things they aint.

He looked like a lumbering oaf following their players around and making pointless fouls -- without the ball.

With the ball he seemed very conservative.

He really has to be moved on this summer.
