Only game I can recall him being put "out of position"

His worst performance was the derby.

Can't keep making excuses for him...

Ya, I thought he had a poor game there myself, but as much as it pains me to say it they're a decent side, much superior to today's opponent, he played very well without much recognition first half v Palace, its painful to see him play below par as he has. You've been calling for his exclusion with a while and today's performance will definitely enhance your argument.

It's also painful to see Carlo play him where he did today.

I’d still have him in the team if all fit and available, going on the opening games of the season and the crap that would replace him there. I would be happy he can do that role well in most games,

However it is true to say he hasn’t really shown enough in his time here to mean he’d be missed if moved on.

being better than Delph, Siggurdson and Davies isn’t enough. I am still hoping it might click with him as he has quality. He was one I was hoping that would gain great confidence from being a first choice under Carlo but it’s not showing so far.

I think the fact he was neither Tom Davies nor Morgan Schneiderlin made us think he was actually a far better player than he is.

I'd persist with him until January, but it's not looking good. He seems to be off the pace more often than not these days.

I expect that him, Delph and Sigurdsson will take turns playing their way out of the third midfield spot until a replacement can be found.
