Confirmed it's what I thought it was. It's a horrendous injury, both the tibia and fibula away at the top of the ankle and the dislocation of the ankle that happens as a result.

They'll pin the ankle and plate the bones. The extent of ligament damage will potentially cause the longest delay in coming back as obviously it'll take a long time for the bone and plates to bind before you can even start on working on the scar tissue in the ligament.

Poor guy. A proper gent of a man. He'll need support as he's got months of darkness ahead.

Do you think it is a season ending injury?

For me it finished my football playing days, for Andre, a professional with a team of experts working on him it'll be at least 6 months. Once the metal work is set the real hard work is to strengthen the ligaments which will be in tatters. That'll take a long time. He'll no kick a ball again for us this season in short.

I fractured disclocated my hip. I had that much morphine they couldn’t operate on me right away — likely the same reason he can’t be operated on tonight.

Wonder if they have to wait for all the swelling to go down overnight....etc
That hip sounds painful! I've had 2 full hip replacements, first one 16 years ago, its amazing what these surgeons can do now, back then I needed a walking stick to go out, these days I'm up and down Snowdon no problem!!
So much respect for these medical people.

Very, very sad. Thanks for the insight, mate.

Fracture dislocation, surely that has to be better than a full break?

Get well soon Andre, gutted for ya. Can't wait to see him back in Everton blue soon enough.

A fracture is a break mate. The dislocation comes about as the ankle is no longer part of the tibia or fibula. The whole body weight has turned his ankle/leg in the wrong way. Puts everything out of kilter. Plus the ligament damage will be massive.

Everyone saying ohhhh Son’s a nice guy he’d never do this. He’s one snidey little get who I’ve seen multiple times act out like that. I remember a few games last season he’s done the same, Bournemouth comes to mind. He’s had a few red cards that I can remember.
Our players have made plenty of tackles that have been just as bad if not worse (in fact Andre has been guilty of a few dirty challenges). It’s part of the game
