His form may have dipped a bit but I fully anticipated it personally. This is where our obvious lack of squad depth comes in to play. Even playing poorly nobody wants to drop Gomes for Schneiderlin or Davies for example.

Imagine Molby having 5/6 poor games on the trot for the redssyte.

He was fat, always injured, more immobile than Gomez, and would have been on several benders over xmas/new year.

He would still have been available for the ball constantly and banged it forward to one of his own players to feet every time.

Poor old Gomez.
