After he came out about his anxiety he didn't really do anything different....he just got more support from the crowd. He unfortunately didn't turn in fine performances.

His good start was just some promising moments in the opening games. He then went between OK, average, below average and terrible for the rest of his time here. Based on last two years I'd only say he is a possible upgrade on the lazy Schneiderlin. Huge upgrade? Very unlikely.

A lot of wishful thinking in this thread! Everton knows just what to do with that.

I think if Silva can get the player that was there at Valencia out mate, it's not wishful thinking at all to say he's a huge upgrade on our midfield.

Btw, I've seen him play a fair few times for Barca and I agree with your assessment. I don't think it was a lack of trying, though. He just simply wasn't cut out for what they signed him for. There was a lot of pressure for him to deliver and ease out Iniesta, but ultimately he was never that type of player. As I think you said yesterday, it was always a strange move.

After reading up on this guy, (admit I'm not a big follower of foreign football) I'm actually quite excited about this signing. Barca seemed to have bought him to play in the first team, spent quite a bit on him. Obviously it hasn't quite worked out? Apparently Barca offered him to us when we were trying to buy Mina.
