Seems like Barca have been trying to get rid of him for a couple of transfer windows but his reputation has fallen off a cliff. Like to think he can revive his career with us and Silva, he isn't the first player to fail after a big money move.

Recent reports suggest his injury wasn't as bad as first thought. Should be fit by end of the month. Proper central midfielder with good size, yes please.

He was signed in the hope of slotting in for Iniesta but never settled or got near those standards.

Doesn't mean he's a bad player - just means he's not Iniesta and couldn't express his talents for Barcelona.

It'd be a fine signing on loan with an option to buy.

He went from playing a Barkley at Everton role with Valencia where his job was to skip past a few players and play a forward pass, to tiki taka.

He doesn't suit tiki-taka but we need a proper Barkley replacement so I can see the logic from all points of view

Didn’t set the world alight at Barca but was brilliant for Valencia and earned his big move. Anyone who’s Valencia’s best player is easily good enough for us.

Fits the bill for what we need. An intelligent, ball playing, strong on the ball, tall (6’2”) CM.

He's flattered to deceive at Barca, but there's definitely talent there.
