And it’s LIVE..!!

League games should be :

12:30 , a load of 3pm and a 5:30 Saturday
2pm and 4pm Sunday
8pm Monday

Cup/Europe usual weeknight 7:45 or 8pm Tue/Wed/Thu and the FA Cup Final at 3pm on a Saturday.

Sell team subscriptions and have your usual live schedule as well so I can watch all of Everton then cherry pick what else I wanna watch.

With the amount of season tickets we sell, I imagine the gate receipts are almost guaranteed, if we’re on tv or not, but I suppose it’s the adds on that would suffer, the half time drinks etc.
I think if you have season ticket would you stop having one if the games were all on tv?
I think I’d still keep mine, but may dodge that rainy Wednesday February night against Stoke

Friday
6pm and 8pm
Saturday
1230pm 530pm 8pm
Sunday
12pm 215pm 430pm 7pm
Monday
8pm

That would mean no 3pm Saturday and if you allow League clubs to televise games for free in their bars it would get money in the tills before games and after games mainly on Saturdays. Midweek games would be staggered over 2 weeks with a 545pm and 8pm kick off Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday.

Over here, everyone recognizes the NFL blackouts of games in home markets if the game is not sold out for what they are - a cheap strongarm tactic to sell tickets.

I don't see how it's any different where you are, other than the fact that it's even more contemptible since you can't see the game on TV even if it does sell out.

It's crazy to me that someone living in a non-NFL town always got more games on TV, and no blackouts, relative to someone in an NFL town. It's equally crazy to me that a foreigner can watch all the games on TV, but those of you in the country where the games are actually played cannot.

Whilst it may be great for fans who are unable to make games for whatever reason, as a fan who attends Goodison and a fair few away games there's absolutely no way I'd want these crazy kick off times to continue when we're allowed back in.

Who the hell wants to go the match at 7pm on a Sunday or 6pm on a Thursday FFS!

I've got the secret link.... so I see every game anyway for free with no shitty pundits just the fella off EFC TV.

*taps nose

I think I’m right in saying that we have now had our last 38 league games televised live on one channel or another - ie an entire season.

I have to admit it’s the first time in my life I’ve seen every game, home and away including cup games live for an entire year.

So the question is, should TV continue to broadcast every Prem game after the pandemic - staggered starts and Thursday 6pm kick offs and all?

(May well be different to those outside the UK)

No from me.

The only way it happens again, is if the price for the packages goes up considerably.

Looking at it from the Premier League point of view, the packages that are set up and distributed create the money that is pumped into the league. You allow Sky or BT to stream all games 50/50 at the same price, you devaluing all the other packages.

I also still prefer a full weekend of fixtures.

Infrastructure isn't there (how would the income be split between club and PL)
and you'd get a bigger disparity with the bigger teams and smaller teams.

PL should offer a Netflix style streaming service - that would be perfect

The TV companies that buy the packages won't like that (they buy content for their own customers) and the PL made almost £10billion in the last round of sales.

It's also not cheap to set up and run a streaming service. Netflix spend £1billion a year on basic infrastructure for example.

Indeed, went to Spain and there was a live 3pm game on a Saturday. Back home it was pundits in a studio describing the games, or “Video control” as Sky Sports Soccer Saturday called it in the 90s.

Most people seem to like watching that and MOTD late at night rather than actually watch it live, but since recent times that has somewhat changed. It would be interesting to see what the ratings have been for FS and MOTD since the league restarted last year.

Thats what we have in NZ, Spark sport $14,99 nzd (8 pounds) per month every game live. You can also replay them and you get highlights etc. They have something similar in OZ ( called Bein Sport connect i think?). You could always use a VPN to Auckland and sign up this way, not sure what the quality would be like from the uk, but in NZ can stream at 4k no issue
