So, the board has changed the club policy in such a way that from now on it will be impossible for minority shareholders to call an EGM. This is a sad indication of how far from "People's Club" Everton has become. They have decided they do not want to talk with minority shareholders anymore. They are in their rights to do so, but the signal they send out is not pretty.

This is a sad, sad state of affairs. People say that some billionaire owning the club would mean us fans wouldn't have any say on matters, well, now we don't have it with Bill Kenwright in charge. He, of course, doesn't have a billion pounds, which is pretty much the only difference any more.

Oh, and it looks like in the future the club won't hold any AGM's either. So it looks like there will be no way of voicing your concerns to the board from then on. They can change the shirt colour to red if they want.

Sad indeed that the club no longer wish to have such open communication with the fans, but given the abuse they've received this summer I can't say its entirely surprising. With open commucation channels comes responsibility from both sides to behave well. I'm not sure many on the fans side have done this.

Kirkby stadium with all it's problems and risks isn't reason enough to call an EGM? What is?

How was the EGM going to impact on any future decison? What was the goal in your opinion?

All it has done is to stiffle commuication, trust, mutuality between the majority of fans and the club all so wingers had an oppurtunity to unloosen their bra straps.

Fantastic move by the club to cut off the threats of further EGM abuses.

"we want a show of hands, and if we dont get we'll continue to vote for EGM's"

got what you [Poor language removed] deserved.

hope your proud.

I laugh in your general direction.

Shareholders are now being denied their right to know what is happening with a business that they have faithfully put their money into.

If you are not some sort of major shareholder, then you have very little to zero input as to how the club will go about their business.

Instead of coming up with this crazy idea, why not bring in a plan where only a maximum of 2 egm's can be called in a calendar year or something.

It is a cut-throat world, and lets be honest, if we as fans ran the show we'd be [Poor language removed].

Oh no, they are exercising their rights! Whatever will we do now! Really, you reap what you sow, and all the [Poor language removed] you guys have given BK and the other board members, I don't blame them one iota.

If it was me, I would have cut communications with you lot ages ago based on the comments made. He is trying to better the club, you might not agree with how he is doing it, but to think he is doing it for personal gain or another ridiculous reason is silly.

Not don't get me wrong here, but for the minority shareholders to really have a say in the club it would be in backing a boardroom dispute. Honestly the minority shareholder has no control over issues which the majority shareholders agree on.

So, in reality the only thing that has been taken away is for those morons (Yes Paul, from the transcript, looking at you here) to have the ability to through verbal abuse at BK and Elstone in an official capacity.

So as shareholders we are now classed as an irritant by our board of directors Peoples club :lol:what about every little helps I personally dont go to meetings as its pointless I worked that out all by myself my only aim was to own a small part of Everton. But never the less think this is shameful coming from the self acclaimed peoples club. As for the shareholders behavior I think the Chairman's contempt at the London meeting was by far worse,If shareholders want answers surely they are entitled to at least ask questions or is the deceit that bad now the board are worried about something being discovered .Kenwright has gone down in my estimation by this action:@

Sorry but certain sections of the support took the "People's" part literally.

I've got no problem with the board doing what they did.

If shareholders have a problem with that, then they can write up a complaint and put it in the suggestion box.

Or even better, dump their shares.

flog yourself.

the chairman answered a question.

that he and 'the rest' didnt appreciate being MADE to answer it again and again is simply good business.

it might not be the flavour of the month, but what did the [Poor language removed] that pushed the agenda expect? the walls to crumble?

time to get real, we are dealing with a multimillion pound business, like a bunch of inbreds with a bee in their bonnet that have all the say of a US president count whatsoever.

dont like it, sell up, or buy up.

suddenly [Poor language removed] business person bill takes on a whole new meaning.

stupid [Poor language removed], everyone.

got what you deserved.

The club, or Kenwright if you wish were left with no alternative but to carry out this action.

It was made very clear that those that are that way inclined were not going to accept the club line and would not rest until they had changed the direction the club is going in by calling EGM after EGM. There were people petitioning for the next EGM before the first one had even taken place.

You have to accept that these things take time and resources that would be better placed trying to better our lot for all as oposed to constantly trying to appease a few.

What alternative was left for the club ?

To ask the board questions. Of course with the three muppets owning the majority of the shares the rest of the shareholders can't overturn their decisions.

All it has done is to stiffle commuication, trust, mutuality between the majority of fans and the club all so wingers had an oppurtunity to unloosen their bra straps.
Eh, sorry? So it's actually the minority shareholders' fault that the club did this?

So, how is the board of Everton any better than in the clubs owned by non-fans? They have clearly showed they disrespect us and couldn't give a flyin f***k what we think.

So you think it's ok that the board doesn't talk with the fans?

Honestly, is this really the best way to treat your customers? Even big companies when they get complaints don't tell the customers to [Poor language removed] off and "we will never take any more complaints from you". But with Everton, whose chairman is the self-proclaimed "greatest Evertonian in the World, I saw Cannonball Kid from the Boy's Pen, you know" it's ok. I'm honestly totally baffled by your opinion.

Have you thought why people are getting so angry at the club? Do you honestly think that just the fans are to blame, the board is faultless?

Let me remind you that the club's attitude towards us was made clear several years ago at an AGM when Ian Ross called us fans "drunken knobheads". People were much less angry then and yet the club seemed appropriate to treat us with contempt. If you stop to think for a moment how the club has treated the fans for years you might just see why people are behaving like they have.

The old sack the board, i have no idea how to replace it mantra is getting a bit old! anyone can point to faults but true innovation comes in deviseing a strategy to rectify them! Ill save you wear and tear on your keybord bascily the point you want to make in every thread and a culmination of all your points is the board are incompetent and [Poor language removed] we need a takeover KEIOC. Now wasnt that easy.
