2023/24 Amadou Onana

Didn't think he did much wrong before going off. Tries to play forward. Just doesn't dominate enough though
Tidy enough. But their goal. Refuses to smash into an aerial challenge on half way which he should win. He wasn’t needed, but they had a midfielder that was next to Onana when the break started who was entering the box just as the striker finished it. Onana sauntering 15 yards behind despite having the same starting position. If Pickford pushed that straight out…..

He has done this his entire Everton career, and my hysterical historic posts mentioned it through his first season. Nothing to do with age, experience or “better players around him”. His game isn’t scoring, so as an elite midfielder, he should be showing unflinching desire to win every ball within 10 yards of him, and track runners who walk right past him. That penny still hasn’t dropped.

If some of our fans are happy with that performance from him tonight it’s no wonder we are in the [Poor language removed] . We need to win our battles and make sure the players we are up against in midfield know they have been in a war just like Peter Reid / howie Kendall /Tony Kay /Paul bracewell / Alan ball/ Colin Harvey did every game .Not some half arsed performance like tonight show some bollocks FFS and take ownership for your own performance not all this if he was playing with better players have some pride in your own game . Am going to bed

Lost count the times he gave the ball away carelessly.

His performances for Belgium are chalk and cheese.

He can play for sure, but for us only half arsed.

Think he is a good player but at this time does not do enough hs the most ability in the midfield and we need him to stand up. Prob will be a good player for another team but we need more from him now

He was our best player first half.

Does his job well but is surrounded by dross.

Honestly don't know what people expect.
He is our best player, but, tonight he didn't look arsed. He is a gifted player, much higher level than us. Tonight he looked like he was playing within himself, rather than taking responsibility as our best midfielder and trying to get the game by the scruff of the neck.
